Lene owns her own coffee shop, Behag Din Smag, in the north of Denmark together with her boyfriend Jeppe. She came second in the 2004 Danish BC and has been on the national team at NBC in Iceland and Norway. About half a year ago she designed her own blend for her coffee shop together with Peter Dupont, which she of course also used in the competition.
She was very consistent, her drinks tasted really good and the judges said they hope she will bring the same kind of passion with her to Tokyo.
For the first time the Danish champion is a woman and comes from outside of Copenhagen.
Congratulations Lene!
It was also great to see so many foreign visitors here; James (UK champ), Annette Moldvar, Matts Johansson, Ave Pilt, Lukas (Polish Champ), Asia, Stephen Morrisey, Silvia (Brazil champ), Einar (Norweigan champ), Addy and many more. The crowd was great at cheering on and the atmosphere was great.
As I was busy MCing I didn't take any pictures, so I'm hoping James will post his pictures on his blog.
Lastly I can't help but congratulating Peter Dupont for having roasted the coffee for 5 out of the 6 finalist.
